Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura (AA Zaura) is a Nigerian, Kano-born multitalented, and multi sectoral international Businessman and Philanthropist, with over two decades of hands-on experience and private sector leadership in business development, management, strategy, innovation, and job creation in the areas of Renewable Energy, Oil and Gas, Real Estate Finance and Development, Financial Management, and Global Commodities Trading. A A Zaura’s business interests also include Aviation, Air and Land Transport Services and Rentals, and Modeled Social Impact Development Initiatives amongst others;

Born on February 7th, 1977 to the Zaura family of Babba, Unggogo Local Government Area of Kano State. AA Zaura attended the premier Zaura Primary School, Babba, Kano State where he obtained his First School Certificate. Thereafter he proceeded to the Government Junior Secondary School, Babba, and Bagauda Technical College, all in Kano State, Nigeria where he obtained his Junior School Certificates and Technical School Senior Certificate as a Technician majoring in Agricultural Mechanization in 1994;

Inspired by the need to attain greater academic heights, AA Zaura joined the Brainfiled College, Meran, Lagos, Nigeria where he wrote and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate (WASSC) with flying colours in 2007.

As a flourishing young international business tycoon, employer of labour, and wealth creator in Nigeria, AA Zaura passion for education and personal development was not deterred by his unprecedented business progress and successes.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Political Science and Public Administration and A Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Public Administration both from Baze University, Abuja Nigeria (in view), and a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Technology, Kano State Polytechnic, Kano in 2000. He also attended a Master’s Program in Financial Management Services (in view) of the Robert Kennedy College, University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom.

In 2008, AA Zaura founded Zaura Energy Limited, an indigenous, Oil and Gas value chain company that has over the years through Zaura’s pragmatic leadership, strategic policy focus, and skillful business acumen grown into a multi-billion energy and oil and gas trading company in Nigeria; AA Zaura is also the Nigerian Managing Director (MD) of Plembeck Emirates Limited, a Global Renewable Energy Company headquartered in Germany and Abu-Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He is the Chairman/CEO, of Laulex Lushgreen Limited, an Export, Import, General Commodities, and Real Estate Development and Investments Company based in Nigeria. Chief Executive Officer, Brainscom Limited, Salscorel Limited, and Gravity Company Limited focusing on Aviation and Air and Land Transport, Financial Management and Investments, and Real Estate Development that has significantly contributed to the development of Nigeria’s economy in the areas of job creation, business incubation and sustainable financing;

Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura is the founder and President of the A A Zaura Foundation, a community/social impact development, and empowerment, privately funded Not for Profit Foundation that has positively impacted over 30,000 individual beneficiaries, institutions, and corporate bodies in the areas of disbursements of over N500Million Educational Scholarship awards to tens of thousands of students, Construction and equipping of brand new Police Station and Police Residential Quarters worth over N60Million at Zaura, Kano State; donation of Community Healthcare Facilities and Services, construction and equipping of Schools to promote access to basic education, Donation of Ambulances, Sports Development and awards; welfare supports including foods and clothing to Widows, Women, the less privileged and physically challenged Nigerians.

The Foundation has also donated Support Packages to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), donation of Security and Safety Equipment to the Nigerian Police, and Repair/Installation of over 500Nos of Hand Boreholes and Motorized Solar Powered Boreholes across 44 Local Government Areas in Kano State as well as promotion of advocacy campaigns for a culture of peace-building and conflict resolution. The Foundation has further refurbished and provided needed support to several Orphanage Homes across the country, especially in Kano State, and numerous Free Medical outreach to help the rural communities of Kano access quality Healthcare.

A A Zaura Foundation was also on the frontline during the global coronavirus pandemic and played a crucial support role to complement the government efforts through the provision of palliatives, and Millions of non-pharmaceutical facilities/equipment to help the people overcome the health, social, and economic devastation of livelihood caused by the pandemic; the foundation is estimated to have expended over N1Billion Naira in community development and social support programs in the last 15 years of its operation, including donations of over four multipurpose Fire Service Trucks worth over N300Million to the Kano State Fire Service Station.

In 2018, A A Zaura answered the admiration and leadership excellence call by the people of Kano to join politics and serve the public in a greater capacity. Inspired by the call and in response to his personal leadership philosophy as a transformational leader and change agent, A A Zaura transitioned to Public Service Leadership where he contested the 2019 General Elections as the Governorship Candidate of the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN).
Thereafter, he graciously accepted the call to join like-minded progressives in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a member.

In 2023, he contested for the Governorship Tick of the APC before he was persuaded to step down for the Party’s stakeholders’ choice, and later became the APC Flagbearer and Candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial seat in the 2023 General Elections. In a demonstration of his passion for the stability and development of the Party in Kano State, A A Azura was remarkably responsible and made history in the Kano APC Party administration for the unprecedented donation of Party Offices and operational vehicles for all APC Local Government Party Chairmen across the 44 Local Government Areas in Kano State. A rare philanthropic gesture that earned him commendations from the Kano State Government and other prominent leaders of the party. He served and massively provided nationwide support for the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council of the APC, which resulted in the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following the keenly contested 2023 Presidential Elections;
